OrthoDB Get Group Fasta
Retrieve member protein sequences (FASTA) for an OrthoDB orthologous group, optionally restricted to a species. Other OrthoDB tools return group metadata, GO/KEGG/InterPro annotations, and a gene-ID/organism list, but never the actual amino-acid sequences. Overview
Retrieve member protein sequences (FASTA) for an OrthoDB orthologous group, optionally restricted to a species. Other OrthoDB tools return group metadata, GO/KEGG/InterPro annotations, and a gene-ID/organism list, but never the actual amino-acid sequences. This returns one record per member protein, parsing the rich JSON metadata OrthoDB embeds in each FASTA header (pub_gene_id, og_name, organism_name, organism_taxid, description) plus the full sequence -- the input needed to run MSA / phylogenetics on an orthogroup. Restrict to a species with the 'species' NCBI taxon ID. Example: group_id='794361at2759' (BRCA2 orthogroup), species='9606' returns the human BRCA2 protein records (pub_gene_id 'BRCA2', organism 'Homo sapiens') with their sequences.
